Belle of Louisville Steamboat

Take a cruise on the oldest operating paddlewheel river steamboat in the country, the Belle of Louisville, and experience a unique piece of America’s history. Her major cruising season is generally between Memorial Day and Labor Day, with some cruises and special events offered in the spring and fall. The Belle’s sister boat, the Spirit of Jefferson, a cozy diesel-powered riverboat, offers cruises most of the year.

Churchill Downs

This historic thoroughbred racetrack, established in 1874, is home to the famous Kentucky Derby. It is the oldest, continuously operated racetrack in the United States. The track itself is a one-mile oval and the facility covers 166 acres. Come by for the exciting festivities throughout the year.

Take the kids or some friends to interact with and observe over 1,300 animals in a natural exhibit environment, located on 134 acres. Visit the Islands Pavilion and Islands Village or the George & Nellie Woo/Woo Komodo Dragon exhibit. Ride the antique carousel or the train. Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom

Laugh and scream on over 75 rides, including seven world-class roller coasters. Play games and enjoy entertaining shows. Your ticket also gets you complimentary admission into the adjacent Hurricane Bay, a tropically themed water park.

Waterfront Park & River Walk

Pack a picnic lunch and head to Louisville's Waterfront Park, residing on the banks of the Ohio River. The park overlooks walking paths, the Great Lawn, the Festival Plaza, a series of pools and fountains, a children's playground and a harbor. Many festivals take place in the park year-round.

Or, stroll along the scenic River Walk, a paved walkway with excellent views of the Ohio River, Portland Canal, the 14th Street railroad bridge and Shippingport Island.

Both of these scenic spots are located a half mile northeast from The Seelbach Hilton.
